John P. Gleason is a founding partner of the firm. John was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey in 1969 and the New York State Bar in 1982.While completing graduate legal studies at the Université de Paris, John was an associate in the International Department of the Cabinet Fiscal et Juridique Francis Lefebvre, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. Upon his return to the United States, John managed the New York office of the international law firm, Kervorkian & Rawlings.John focuses principally on Real Estate finance, advising some of the nation’s largest financial institutions on bankruptcy matters. Mr. Gleason acts as special counsel to both lenders and borrowers in complex financial real estate transactions and provides them with non-consolidation opinion letters, enforceability, due authority and authority to file opinion letters.

In addition, John represents The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and advises it with regard to loan transactions involving United States parent companies of U.K. subsidiaries.

John received a Bachelor’s Degree in French Literature and in Philosophy from St. Peter’s College, in the State of New Jersey. He received his law degree from Seton Hall University, where he was an editor of its Law Review. John received the Diplôme Supérieur de l’Université (Master’s Degree) from the Université de Paris (II). In addition, John completed extensive graduate work in international law at New York University Law School.

John is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
